Home / Getting to Know Us / Bonita Springs Charter School Heart of the Lighthouse Hurricane Recovery Program

The team members of Bonita Springs Charter School would like to reach out to our CSUSA Sister Schools, our school family, neighbors and community members to ask for help. Many of our students and their families were devastated by Hurricane Irma. These families have lost their homes and all of their belongings. Bonita Springs Charter School has launched our Heart of the Lighthouse Hurricane Recovery Program. This program is similar to a holiday angel tree, but instead of providing our students with holiday gifts we will instead be helping them to rebuild their young lives.

Our teachers have been in contact with their student’s families so that we know which of our students were most affected. We welcome you to sponsor a family or an individual student from our Lighthouse program. Student information is available on tags attached to our school Lighthouse in our main lobby for pick up or you can receive this information via e-mail. You may also make a monetary donations and/or supplies donation directly to the school or the CSUSA Giving Tree. All money collected at the school level will be matched by the CSUSA Giving Tree and all items donated will go directly to our students and their families. New supplies from local chain stores can also be shipped directly to the school if you choose to do so.

The goal of the Heart of the Lighthouse Hurricane Recovery Program is to brighten the lives of our affected students and help to provide a shining light in the darkness. We want all of our students to know just how loved they are by their school family. The Heart of the Lighthouse Hurricane Recovery Program is a volunteer-driven program with school staff, community members, families, and neighbors coming together to help make a difference.
If you have specific questions or would like sponsor information via e-mail, please contact our Student Support Services Representative, Mrs. Alexis Darrus at adarrus@bonitaspringscharter.org or 239-992-6932.
